Writer Elma read a piece from the book and I got to show and talk about how I drew the character based on the real Boumy (the office dog of KADE40). Boumy also made an appearance by showing his snout. The book “Boumy” was made for the children of Vlaardingen and goes to the primary schools together with a song and a dance performance. Being a sensitive person helps me with making approachable illustrations that a viewer can feel. The depot invited the public to write or draw about the things they collect at home on a card. On the cards were questions such as: “what do you collect?” and “what is your most precious possession?”. I read the answers and based on their input I made an illustration that visualised it. Inside the booklet you’ll find 60 recommended monuments, musea, castles (cultural heritage) around the Netherlands, categorised per province. Portretten Portrait Illustrations Three portraits in black lines of master artists Rembrandt van Rijn, Piet Mondriaan and Jean-Michel Basquiat for the exhibition “Meesterlijk” in museum de Kunsthal in Rottterdam. The portraits were used on the wall of the drawing lab of the museum, where children learned drawing in style of these masters. The exhibition “Meesterlijk!
